PikiKids.com is a kid friendly version of the website Piki.com. Create comics by uploading images and adding text. Save and share the completed product. You can also order a printed copy of your comic.



Toondoo is a simple comic creator tool that allows you to create comic books. Simply drag and drop characters and insert text to create a comic.

Comiqs is a comic creator tool that allows users to create comics using pictures. You can upload your own images or use images available on the site. Choose from a variety of layouts and speech bubbles.  This website is very easy to use.

Make Beliefs Comix is another great comic strip creator. Choose from a variety of available characters on the site and use text bubbles to make them speak. If you are stuck click on story ideas to help you get going on your comic. Also if you click on the teacher resources link you will find 21 ways to use Make Belifs Comix in your classroom.

Related Sites

Pixton is a comic generating website with a version specifically for schools. However, Pixton cost money so unless you are going comic crazy I would recommend using the others sites I listed.

Nice post on comics! There are lots of resources out there, so it is always helpful to learn what other teachers have actually found useful. We elected to go with comic life, a software app, that is very low cost. My district is still struggling with middle school students signing up for web apps. Hopfully this will change soon. Thanks for the tweet to share!
