Sketch Star is an excellent website created by Miniclip. Sign up for free to access all the features of Sketch star.  This website allows users to create animated frames.  You can choose from a variety of backgrounds, characters, animals, shapes, text and more.  You can also create your own characters and backgrounds using a wide range of sketch tools such as spray paint, pencil etc.  The site holds a variety of contests ranging from topics such as earth day, new years resolutions, and Chinese new year. Fuzzwich is a fairly simple way to create animated frames.  You are guided through a series of steps including choosing a frame and choosing characters.  To create the animation you can drag the characters, add an action, and add text while recording.  After you record you can preview the frame and save and share it if you wish.

Animasher is another excellent animation creation website.  You can upload your own images and animate them using this site!

Xtranormal can be used to create short animated movies.  This site has less selection but it may also be easier to use for beginners.
